Here's the Guillows B29 kit that my 75yo father just completed. He's not very computer savy, so when he sent me some pictures, I decided to create a hanger for him here at the Virtual Aerodrome to show off his beautiful B29. He's a perfectionist (like all of you), and it really shows in the fit and finish of this model. Thanks to all of the master builders at the Virtual Aerodrome. He really enjoys seeing all your web site. The pictures and information which you provided really helped him with this build (and he's even started learning how to use a computer as a result!) |

Excellent craftsmanship. A beautifully done work of 3D art! What we old farts lack in computer skills is more than compensated by our other talents. JFB!! |

Superb 29'er you've got there. What paint did you use for the overall aluminum body? It is usually very hard to achieve a consistent flow but you seemed to have nailed it. Kudos again. |

Just awsome, I aspire to build like this in my twilight years. Other larger Guillows builds I have seen on this site are outstanding and could be used as a stand in for movies, but there are many mods to the kit for them to look that great. The thing I really like about your pops build, is it is clean and looks like a balsa model built straight from the box and plans. Someday I will save my money and try to buy one on eBay, hopefully it will look almost as good as your dads. |

Very nice! What type of paint was used; the finish is really consistent. |

Someone's using your photos, and mine, to try to sell this kit on ebay! |

I see that DD. I find it odd though that they don't have any images of what kind of shape the kit box is in or its contents. |

Caveat emptor! |

@ Dale & DD. Maybe this jerk off eBay will pony up a consulting fee or somethin' for you guys. Don't hold your breath though. |

I sent this guy an email telling him that I did not give permission to use my photos. He responded with an apology and said that since they were on virtualaerodrome for all to see he figured it was ok to use them. I told him I didn't mind if he credits the photo. |

As it says at the bottom of every page : "All pictures are property of the individual members of this site. They may not be used without permission from the user." |

I don't think so. |

Some one I knew on my wife's side of the family was a B29 gunner based on Saipan in 1945. He was there when the first atom bomb was dropped on Japan, but he didn't hear about it until afterward. Tonight I was reading to my wife something he had written, about a mission over Tokyo where their B29 lost 2 engines from a Flak hit. They managed to make to Iwo Jima. It turned out to be a "small" blessing because after his 35th mission he was sent directly home on a Liberty ship (8 days sail time to California) due to having earned a Distinguished Flying Cross (boosting his points). Other guys had to wait their turn. |
