BillParker | 09-Mar-10 05:35 | well, it's getting a little better... |
jerry campbell | 09-Mar-10 15:42 | Looking good, I'm really looking forward to seeing the finished plane. What scale is it? or what is the wingspan? |
scigs30 | 10-Mar-10 08:53 | Built this kit along time ago, and she flew great. One of the few kits that Comet provided a canopy for. |
BillParker | 10-Mar-10 11:25 | It's a little bigger than the 500 series Guillow's which is 16 inches, so this is about 20... Plans are downstairs... I'll get more info... |
JG300 | 10-Mar-10 11:32 | Does anyone have any tips for Comet kits? I'm watching one on Ebay and I think I have a good chance of winning it. |
BillParker | 10-Mar-10 12:15 | IT's Kit Number 3306 BF 109 E "better known as "ME-109"" Wingspan 18" Length 18 11/16 " Designed and drwn by Larry Conover. Copyright 1965 by Comet. You're right, this came with a canopy, and not only that. The parts are actually die cut. But. They're cut only halfway thru the sheets. And the wood is as hard as any hardwood I've eve messed with. Build one part, break four parts, start again. |
jerry campbell | 11-Mar-10 15:00 | 18 11/16 makes it very close to 1/24th scale. There are a lot of decals for different markings that can be used, also Squadron has some after market canopies for the 109E-1 and 109E-3/4. |
