rayl | 05-Feb-15 19:14 | rgood, you are good. I forgot to ask how long it took to cut out all those ribs. I have always wanted to build a NC-4, but the thought of cutting out a Bazillion identical ribs always stops my thought process. |
bobgood | 05-Feb-15 21:33 | I did not record how long Rayl! (probably about an hour or so for each wing section) I traced the outline of each rib onto 3/32" balsa using a DD type fine-tip pen, then (most un-modeling like) I cut each out using a Stanley knife! - I like the stiff blade in those. it makes following the line easy. Notches were done with a very fine saw and a violin chisel. I did break one rib in the assembly of the stbd upper mainplane - it became attched to my finger with CA!!!! |
