Thanks Nigel. Maybe you can be of help with my next build. I know that a Halberstadt D III lives in New Zealand. Would you know where I could get some close up photos?????

Hi John. The D III lives at www.omaka.org.nz/exhibits.htm#Halberstadt. Rather frustratingly I've been through my files and don't have any good detail shots of this aircraft. Half the problem is that it faces away from where the photos are taken and it's hard to get a good shot. I have contacted a friend who has squillions of aircraft photos to see if he has any good closeups to offer. No doubt I'll be back to the museum at some point, it's about 3 hours fast clip on the bike for a round trip, but I'm not quite sure when this will be. I'll keep you posted. Cheers, Nigel

Oops the Kiwi one is a D IV ! Is there a lot of difference ?
John M Oshust21-Dec-11 07:16
Only 80 or so were built and the only reproduction still air worthy is in New Zealand. Thanks for the effort, I shall invent something!

I just dropped a line to the museum in New Zealand asking if they have or will take photos of the engine and exhaust system of their D IV reproduction. "Lettuce" see what precipitates!
