RodN | 13-Mar-08 18:22 | Very nice David, is this company still around? I have not seen any of their kits in Australia. |
Creosotewind | 14-Mar-08 11:00 | Cleveland doesn't make kits anymore, but the plans are still available. Go to and check out their site. Their kits do show up on eBay. I have an F9F Panther in about 1/15 scale, and an F4F Wildcat, Hellcat, Travel Air Mystery Ship and Lockheed Hudson. All of those are 3/4" or 1/16 scale. Their Master Series kits and plans are awesome. |
David Duckett | 14-Mar-08 13:09 | This is the first Cleveland kit I've built since I was about 16. It was a Lockheed P 80, yes P 80, and it was a gorgeous thing which probably taught me just about everything about building a model plane from balsa that I know. In those days all I had was a small Brownie camera and the photo I sent to Model Airplane News was rejected because of the rather poor quality. They did ask me to send a better photo... That Big Ass Rat that John O is building is from Cleveland plans !!!!! |
sweetwillie | 10-May-08 16:36 | David, I've been studying this build, and wondered how you get your extra stringers so evenly spaced. How do you do it? |
David Duckett | 11-May-08 10:24 | It's really just "eyeballing" them. |
