1/20" balsa backed by .01" styrene to allow for bending. Left high as wings will be sheeted with 1/32" and sanded flush later. |

I use .01 Evergreen sheet styrene for my wells. But your technique of using it as backing is novel and works great. Some extra engineering and time has produced some perfect details. |

This is , as usual, looking really good and I'm looking forward to seeing it finished since this is one I've never built. These kits do not show how to make these wheelwells and they should because they add SO much to the final result. |

Thanks gents. The Mess 109 was not a thing of beauty, though it did kick some butt for a while. I just got tired of painting and masking and thought that recessed wells would add a little flair. And John, coming from someone who could probably hollow out a carrot and produce an awesome intake duct...this was quite easy. |
