I was looking over my Albatros kit, and was wondering what to use for the black liner (Tube Like thing) around the cockpit surround area?
John M Oshust15-Oct-11 20:01
You can purchase cockpit coaming from Tower Hobbies or go your local mower shop and purchase different diameter and color gas line. That's what I do.

jace314....Kay, from AerodromeRC, just told me she is cutting my Nieuport tomorrow and shipping it on Monday.....yipeee!

Thanks for the gas line idea, will have to try that! Enjoy your Nieuport. Will that be your next build?
John M Oshust15-Oct-11 21:50
"Lettuce" not look that far into the future. Nieuport 17 bis is all for now.

John, One more question for ya... What items have you used for rigging lines? Is black sewing line ok, or should I try something a little bit tighter, and stronger? Thanks!
John M Oshust16-Oct-11 11:19
Black beading wire for rigging, beading cable for control wires. Kay's models really do not need rigging to fly. Wires only for detail. When you start building and finishing you will see that my Aerodrome planes only used the kit components for their structure, everything else was scratch built. You have a "short kit"!
jace31416-Oct-11 15:24
I know its a short kit, and I probably will build it for display only, so I will be adding as many details as i can handle. I was just curious as to what will look good and tight for the rigging. Where did you get the wire for beading from? Thanks again!
