Learning to cast. Testing, testing,...Bingo!

Hey, you got it! How do you like it? The parts on the left look like F4U Corsair cannon, air scoop, and landing struts:)...matt

I'm amazed at what it actually does and how it can be carved and sanded, and..how hard it is. The F 4 parts were part of the learning process after I totally destroyed the DC 3 parts and had to order a whole new sheet. Anyone need any spares?

Is the F4U in your build que? What does Guillow charge for plastic replacements. I may want to redo some of the F4U parts as they too were experimental. I've also got some .010" sheet styrene to experiment with to use to replace some of the light cardboard parts.

It looks like you cast each half of an item like a landing gear separately and glue them together. Is that correct? Do you imbed the wire parts or skip them? Jack Gilrein

Another one I missed. The parts are glued together after casting and I did omit the wire on this one. Matt, are you still here? I think Guillows charges about $4 for a replacement plastic sheet, not sure. I've built the F4U twice, a pic of one is in my B 17 build. I'll be doing some more casting very soon and will post pics of the process.

This is so cool.... where did you get the solution's at? I have been looking for someone to do this, because I would love to make some exhaust for my P-40. Thank you David!!!

Micro-Mark, they have lots of neat stuff.

I hope it's me....I hope it's me. BTW pictures are required. I'm sure that this will be another build technique which will be shared by all at the VA. Until I see the process I'll leave it to you pros. Thank you Matt for your discovery and DD for his generosity.
