I think all is working again now. Please leave a comment on a photo somewhere if something you need is not working still.

Ditto on the two inch choice. Never saw a Lancaster build before but I did do some research and I'm sure we are all only a couple of days away from a completed beauty. All kidding aside DD, this looks like it's going to be a lotta fun....and a helluva lot of balsa if you plank it. Going to check in every now and then to see your progress.

I've removed this photo from the F-16 build. The problem with the plan is resolved.

Thanks, Steve. I'll use 2" then.

I don't have any good frontal photos in my books, but the drawings shown have a wheel diameter of 0.4" with a corresponding wingspan of 7 3/8". Since the full size wingspan was 102' that means the wheels were about 5.53' tall or 2.07" in 1/32 scale. Comparisons made with the photos I do have show the wheels to be between 5.5' to 5.8' tall, or 2" to 2.175" in 1/32 scale. I'd say the plastic kit is correct.

Unfortunately, no, there are only the two sheets already shown. This is a 1/32 scale kit. I'm not planning to build the Whirlwind at this time. I just put it in that slot of available kits until James returns from the Colonies and corrects it. There are some interesting kits in their catalog but I'll make any decision about those when this one is finished.

Dave, is there a sheet with drawings of the vrarious formers, wing spars and other parts incase someoner wanted to reduce the plane to 1/32 scale and scratch build? also Are you going to do their Whirlwind?
David Duckett, Comment for image # 2474821 Jan 12 13:39
Oh, the wingspan is 38".
David Duckett, Image # 2474921 Jan 12 13:38

And these are 1/32 scale decals from the UK beside the printed tissue included in the kit. The large decal is the same size as the small tissue one. I'll probably use Guillows decals for the wings and paint everything else. The decals cost L4.50 and L2.50 shipping. Sorry, no pound key on my keyboard.;-)

This is the plan. The folds are a pain but I can live with it as I'll be cutting it apart to build the wings. Now I'm concerned about the wheel size. On here they measure 1 1/2", the included Guillows plastic wheels are 1 3/4", and using the 1/72 scale plastic kit as a reference, they should be 2 1/8". WTF?? It looks like a long road ahead...

The plan arrived today, all neatly folded. Great.

Sloppy service from Easy Built?
jerry campbell, Comment for image # 2472020 Jan 12 08:52
Dave could you show the plans?
John M Oshust, Comment for image # 2472020 Jan 12 06:53
Figured you could avoid the small piece filling work.
David Duckett, Comment for image # 2472020 Jan 12 06:28
I see no reason to re-engineer the kit.
John M Oshust, Comment for image # 2472019 Jan 12 22:11
Could you use say 8 notched stringers to hold the formers on the beam. Remove all of the other notches and former material to a depth of 1/8 in, then plank the remainder with stringers? Maybe then you would not have to fill the spaces between all of the stringers.
David Duckett, Comment for image # 2472019 Jan 12 20:35
The beams are marked with former locations.
frwyflyer, Comment for image # 2472019 Jan 12 16:54
Is the beam "stepped' for location of the formers?
David Duckett, Image # 2472019 Jan 12 15:13

The formers are mounted on a "beam" of 1/8" balsa, not this stick, and the stringers are then glued in place. I'll be cutting the center slot in the formers inside the printed lines and trimming to fit with the xacto blade.

Yes they are for the fuselage and engines and no I will not build the plastic kit. It is a quality kit and I paid only $15 to get it here but it's for reference only.
Heinrich Dorfmann, Comment for image # 2471519 Jan 12 14:35
Will you build the Matchbox plastic kit as well?
