Once some references are in place the rest can be determined. The F-105 has far more stuff on the wings than most so patterns are used and then guides.

Most aircraft have a line at the wing tip which is parallel to the center line of the fuselage. Make the measurement shown and then cut a piece of styrene to that width.

Next is the flap which is also made from a pattern. Flaps are often shaped differently on the top and bottom.

Size S is the larger of two pens used. The reason is that movable surfaces are drawn thicker than the panels because there is more space between them. Cut a piece of styrene and tape it in place. This is a guide.. Draw each line separately, moving and taping the guide as needed.

Tape the pattern in place and trace around it lightly with a mechanical pencil. Remember this is on a solid surface.

Turn the tracing paper over and trace it onto styrene. I use a ball point pen for this .

The first step is to establish a reference and on most models the aileron is the place. THe patterns on the plan are not always correct so make any changes required. Place tracing paper over the plan and draw the pattern..
