This Dumas kit, also from 2010, shows that Dumas has used the blue film on clear plastic parts for years.. I do not remember ever seeing clear parts except for canopies.

kit arrived - and good news - the cowl is 4-1/4" dia. I can shave just a 1/16" off each cylinder and it will go in nicely
