I think all is working again now. Please leave a comment on a photo somewhere if something you need is not working still.

A couple of coats of thinned white glue were applied. Some lead shot inserted into the nose. Swing line attached to wing. And we are ready to fly. Slightly breezy today. Test glides with balance weight but no string were OK, but not as good as the Cloud Buster.

Wings completed and ready for joining and forming the dihedral. The center section is the sliding wing joint which allows the wing to be removeable.

We came upon this 3-vu of the Yak 15 that all but jumped off the page asking to be built as a profile 'swinger'. So we scaled it up to a 14 inch wingspan and copied it to a piece of manila card stock. Did some figuring on the cardstock to find out how much to enlarge the horizontal tail and drew in some lines for alignment and placement of the flying surfaces and a few other tweaks. Next is to cut out the patterns and trace them and begin cutting balsa.

Close-up of the model in flight. Scratch built Guillows no-cal model produced in the early 1950's. 8 1/8 inches wingspan.

The wing was readily attached and the Stinson flys OK. Sticks on the wings are for gaging the alignment.

But the Stinson is still able to fly. Don't try this with models other than controline.

Not all flights are successful. Here the outboard wing seperated from the fuselage.

A couple of days later, we were lucky to snap this.

About a month ago, we modified the Stinson for swing control flight. Last week we had some great flying weather and snapped this.
