The Mig-3 was aluminum in the front of the fuselage and wood in the rear. The inner wings were aluminum, the outer wood. Niki's mig will be the same. Al roof flashing, epoxy and time. Now I know I can do it!

Gentlemen remember me? We are 40 hours into the scratch built Mig-3. My Boss says that now the "fun work" of detailing the fuselage will begin. This is a modified Mig published by E Sthal in 1943. Larger scale, bass, not balsa.

Don't think I will add extra wood as we plan on covering it with aluminum (front) and wood (rear), just like the original. Now I can construct and detail the cockpit while the "Boys" build the tail and wings!

Boris and Yegor remove the clamps. Building two sides at once worked. I reved the plans thru the computer. When the boys matched the side they fit almost "purrfect"! This bird is 1/13 scale, inches that is. Wingspan should be a tad over 28".
