Weight as shown is 6.6 grams. But now I have to wait for tissue from Easy Built.

The three of the 11" long kit stringers weigh as much as six of the 18" long stringers that I cut myself. Rather than cut into a fresh balsa sheet, these are cut from the edges of the Dumas sheet wood that was in my Corsair kit.

The new part is nearly half the weight of the heavy kit part, but is still 50% heavier than the lighter kit part. Goes to show that even Guillow's can have quility wood from time to time.

The piece in the back weighs 0.4 grams, the one in the front weighs 1.1 grams. And that was after I sanded the sheet for several minutes! I don't have any 1/20" sheet stock but I have some 1/32" that is just about the same thickness.

All of the sheet wood weighs 3.8 grams. Two sheets were light, one was VERY heavy.

All of the electronics and geared parts were removed for sanding. Sanding went quickly as all of the parts fit very well and I had already shaped the LE and TE. This one goes into the hanger till I sort out the covering options.

The obligatory lap about the floor under power. About all that remains is to sand and cover, and I am in limbo about what to cover it with.

I killed the 2x50mAh NiCd batteries from charging too quickly so I decided to try out a 150mAh LiPo cell and my low voltage protection circuit. The circuit works as designed but I quickly realized I was trying to draw about 3A from a 1.5A rated battery.

The Corsair is ready for her maiden, AUW is 53 grams. I will add more detail after it has flown. I have two seperate sources that say the wing area and weight are a good match to the motor, battery, and prop, but the thrust just seems weak to me.

AUW is 120 grams, it was 62g with rubber FF and 92g with electric FF. I am eyeballing some undeveloped commercial property just around the corner from my house, one of the grassy lots might be just the ticket for flying this plane.

Rudder is attached with CA hinges and is connected to a servo borrowed from the MM Hellcat. All that remains is to install the ESC when it gets here. I could run it w/o the ESC but having throttle control and a reliable BEC voltage is worth the 3 grams.

The new 32" wing is covered and ready for water shrinking. The kit tissue was insufficient to cover the whole wing a second time, so I switched over to Easy Built tissue for the wing and changed colors for fun.
