This is the red tissue that came with the kit. I brushed the glue onto the frame, sanded it lightly, let it dry, then applied another coat of glue and immediately put the tissue on the wet glue.

Topwing aileron actuators. The ailerons are glued to the metal rod, and pushing and pulling the end of the torque rod moves the aileron up and down.

CD-ROM motor now mounted, upper and lower wing leading edges sanded. AUW currently coming out as 4.4oz. Seems to balance with the battery behind the firewall, and the servos in the cockpit.

Here is a change I am making to the kit. Instead of using the heavy side keels, I've replaced them with stringers. At the front, the stringer is doubled up for extra strength, the rear 2/3rds is just a single. I'm holding the original side keel up for com

Rudder. It looks a bit odd because I've milled out a lot of the wood in the frame to save some weight. The Dr.1 is notoriously tail heavy, so tiny amounts saved here should actually help. The alternative was to bend laminated strips around the outline and
