It's fairly easy but slow is the best approach. I glued the sanded to shape guns onto the wing with Testors and the CA with kicker. The final step was to lay in some filler where they join the wing and then a couple of coats of dope on them. The next day I sanded it with 320 wet/dry sandpaper and put on three more coats. The day after it was all sanded again and this is after 5 coats of dope. Running your fingers over the surface is the best way to insure it's all smooth, at least for me cause these old eyes don't see small things easily.
