The fin and rudder are trial fitted in place. The plans call for 1/16th balsa for the fin and rudder assembly, however I used the thicker 3/16, it looks better and is much easier to work with.

I bought this decal sheet when I was thinking of doing the kit in it's 1/32 scale. The top is Galland's aircraft. However, some 25 years ago, when I was building plastic I remember a article/interview with Galland in which he described lhis 262 carrying the Mickey Mouse. The article featured a drawing of his 262 with a mickey mouse on the side just like it was carried on his 109. Of course the Color Police official said he was "probably mistaken", I am not one to disagree with the General's discription of his own plane, so I will finish it with a MIckey Mouse.

I've wanted to do a 1/24th scale Me 262 in Adolf Galland's markings for some time. When I ran across the German jet in 1/32 scale at Shory's I ordered it and found that I could have the plans blown up to 1/24th scale. Of course I will have to oven mold a canopy.
