| scigs30 | Comet North American P51 Mustang | Build | 30-Jun-10 18:53 |  | | Views : 923 | | This little plane went together pretty quick, I built it per the plans so that made it easy. It is a typical Comet kit with lack of instruction, leaving some building up to the imagination. I added the motor mount that is not on the plans, also added a functioning nose block. Comet does not have much detail about the nose block area. The nose former has 2 slots on each side for side stringers but the plans do not show where these stringers go. I remember building this kit when I was younger and being told it has side stringers, besides I don't think Mustangs have a flat side. The landing gear will once again be plug in gear so I can fly without the landing gear. All stringers that have curves were soaked in water and then pre bent before gluing into place. This guarantees the fuselage will not warp. So far the weight is 10 grams. |
