For those interested in the fabrication of a faux wicker pilot seat, Gumby has supplied a component manifest. Cardboard cut to the shape and perforated with a punch for the seat back. Needlepoint mesh to simulate the wicker. Scrap balsa for the seat itself. Small straight pins. Gas line or wire insulation for the seat coaming. Needle and thread. |

This day the rudder control was fabricated and installed. It is linked by cable to another rudder control that will be under the pilot seat. This control beam extends outside the fuselage and connects with two double cables to the rudder. Ogre has all the control cables, for his tail surfaces visible and externally located. I believe they are all double cables as is most of the flight rigging. It is my goal to make all the control cables functional. Hopefully, when the kids play with the control surfaces located in the feathers, the corresponding actuators will move in the cockpit. Rudder cables were doable, with patience and some luck, the control stick connection will fall into place. This night I ponder the design. Gumby’s input is vital to the design success |
