I replaced the hinge parts. Originally they were diecut cardboard, but I was afraid they would disintegrate after a while. I cut them out of basswood. You can see an old piece on the round part of the frame.

Anybody remember Lepage's Cement? Before my time. I only remember them making school glue with a funny rubber tip. The card is from Polk's Hobbys in New York. This kit was sent as a gift to a serviceman during WW2

The drawings are good. It helps to have taken drafting to read plans. The text is very dense. Parts aren't numbered. In some cases just vaguely described.
