I think their price and lack of availability at local hobby stores could be the issue.....and lack of cool box art. Any way great build and flight pictures, did you cover the balsa nose, wheel pants and struts? |
LASTWOODSMAN | 15-Nov-18 09:25 | Hi Sciggs. Thanks for the nice comment. I really like the Dumas range of kits also. They brag about their "ease of construction", and for very good reason, in my humble opinion. And they keep adding new models all the time. And the "Peel n Stick" decals are so easy to apply, (and do not disintegrate) ... and are very light and thin. The box art on the Speedster kit box, is just a very good pic of the fully assembled model as per plan with decals added - and for those of us who like kits in boxes, Dumas does just that.
The nose wheel pants and struts were all wood stained "Golden Oak" color. I really had a lot of fun flying, crashing, repairing and flying again this summer. All trimmed out, I could get standard 15 second flights on this 30" Rearwin Speedster, my favorite plane to hand launch, and fly Rubber Powered Free Flight.
