That's what I was wondering about. They look tasty - to a fish at least. |

:-) |

Sorry Brian. We're up in the NW corner and the only fishing I've done has been out on Flathead lake for lake trout. |

don, would you recommend going to yellowstone? is mid september a good time to go? brian. |

That would be a great time - if there are no fires. It can get really smoky at times. Yellowstone is worth it. We're a days drive west of there - about 50 miles from Glacier. You're welcome to come. I got a notice yesterday from the state that due to warm water and low flows there are now fishing restrictions in place on some rivers. email me at p51sally@hotmail.com and I'll forward the letter to you. |

I just got back yesterday from a trip to Ennis MT. This is considered the Mecca for Fly Fishing on the Madison river. I only fished one day on the Lower Madison below Ennis lake. There is a "hoot owl" restriction on that part of the river. Can't fish after 2:00 pm to midnight. Water's too warm and stressing out the fish. Hooked six, brought five to hand. 2 rainbows, 1 Brown, 1 cut throat and 1 white fish. Four species in about five hours! Used combination of floating fly with nymph dropper. Was a great time! Wish I had more time to fish, but was a short vacation. |
