BriandKilby | 24-Aug-10 05:18 | here's the big question, i got this gws 190 plane, i spent hours looking through hobby website for the electronics, most of the equipment is discontinued or out of stock, plus i don't really understand how it works, it would be a big help if someone wanted to guide me in the right direction, thankyou. i would really like to try to build this plane. |
SteveM | 24-Aug-10 05:44 | I accidentally deleted my reply, oops. Just go here to find the motor and a variety of gears for it. Search the website for "NARO", "ICS400", and "EP1147" to find the servos, receiver, ESC, and prop. Instead of the 9.6V NiMh pack I'd suggest trying to use a 7.4V LiPo pack which will require a little prop and gear ratio experimentation, but you get a lighter plane. |
BriandKilby | 24-Aug-10 12:52 | hi steve, what mah should the 7.4v lipo be at? |
BriandKilby | 24-Aug-10 13:52 | thanks steve for taking the time to help me out. |
SteveM | 24-Aug-10 14:53 | Not sure what size would work best, but I would think you could do at least 1000mAh and might even be able to go beyond the 1600mAh size they list since a LiPo is lighter. Of course you'll have to keep in mind physical size and weight limitations. |
Xanadu | 24-Aug-10 17:15 | A 1500 is the recommended size, but I would try and say closer to 1300ma.
www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=642858 is a great thread to help you with tons of info. |
BriandKilby | 25-Aug-10 04:35 | thanks again you guys, its a big help. |
BriandKilby | 25-Aug-10 06:40 | i have a park zone corsair, the spitfire and p51 are around the weight of the gws with 25oz & 26oz. with the gws being 23oz. the wingspans are 39 and 39.5 in. and the gws at 39in. do you think i should use park zone parts for the gws190 the batteries are 11.1v 1300mah and 11.1v 2200mah. the gws190 is 11.1v 1.3ah- 2.2ah recommended. they use a 480 engine, but the gws recommends a 400. |
Xanadu | 25-Aug-10 18:19 | Stick close to with what GWS recommends, they fly what they build. |
BriandKilby | 26-Aug-10 08:55 | thanks xanadu, the website was really helpful. |
