Yegor checks the spacing dimensions from the original Camel plan as Boris prepares to use the measuring stick.

Did you really make this model. I can't believe how detailed this is. How long did it take you to make this? What others have you made?

Thanx for the comment. This is my first model in 38 years. I never built a biplane as a kid and always liked the camel. My pal and now deceased uncle Stan always told me I could never build a stick model....guess I showed him. This will not be the last another one on the board scratch built Curtis GosHawk Navy bi plane from the 30's. As of tonight 257 hours in the Camel!!!

Wow I would never be able to put that much time in a plane. Im only 14 so I dont have that kind of patience.

You will, young man, you will!

"You will, young man, you will!" I'll second that! Patience is like fine wine...it gets better with age. Its good skills you are learning now (reading prints, instructions, working with tools and materials, etc. let alone not to breath in too much airplane dope!)that will stay with you forever, even if you put down airplane building during your early adult life and don't pick it up again for 20 or 30 or 40 years, these skills will probably help you out sometime in your professional career also. OK, back to plane building!

Thanks, that means a lot

When my uncle Stan told me I would never be able to build a stick airplane I was 12 or 13 and I believed him!!!
