The hardest part of the kit. |

The real challenge may be gluing it down. The front is molded narrow and you really have to squeeze to get it all the way down. Decals are due today or tomorrow, so that give me a couple of days to think about it. Suggestions? |

Several thin strips (1/8 - 1/4") of a good masking tape to hold it in position. Then flow some thinned white glue into the joint with a fine pointed brush. It will probably take several applications depending on how wide the gaps are, smoothing the glue out with a wet finger just before it gets tacky. Works for me. |

Don, I used my thumb to push down on the canopy and applied very small amounts of CA around the edges of the canopy, I mean very small. It took me a few minutes to get it aligned properly and I had to be careful not to scratch the black paint! |

IF you use CA per Julinik: Be aware that there is the possibility of the CA fumes "fogging" the clear canopy. DAMHIKT!!!!!!! Either system will work with a modicum of care. |

Thanks Al and Ray. I've done the CA one and it works. Like DD said, I used a pinpoint to apply it. It takes two hands to get this thing in place. If I can hold it down tight, long enough to get it secured with CA, I'll finish with 560 like I did on the F9f. If I let up on this one it pops up immediately. It's going to be interesting. |

Ray, does the white glue hold well to plastic? |
Xanadu | 26-Oct-18 20:36 |
I have used Weldbond glue with great success for canopy's, etc. |

Don, yes the white glue, when applied as I mentioned holds remarkably well. I didn't know that you had access to the 560 type glue or I would have recommended that you use that. |

Thanks. |

One way to prevent the fogging from using CA is to dip the canopy in Future floor polish. Set it aside, under a container (to keep dust from settling on it) and let dry. The CA doesn't affect the Future like it does plastic. The Future will also make the canopy appear to be clearer as well. Good luck. |

That is true!! I had forgotten about using Future, (or whatever it is called now) to prevent the fogging issues. |

Creosotewind. Thanks, I've heard about that, but never tried it. Now I an going to. Ray, I believe it's now called Pledge. |
