jgood | 09-Jul-06 10:03 | Mike Molt does a fly-by... |
Erik Cyne | 19-Jul-09 21:12 | which motor, esc, battery do you use?? very nice plane |
jgood | 19-Jul-09 23:00 | Thanks Eric. It's a HiMax 4100-2015, with the GWS EPS prop shaft and 10x8x4 prop. I can't remember which ESC. The battery is a Tanic 11.1V 1550mAh pack. |
Erik Cyne | 20-Jul-09 11:05 | Can you help me??, I want a Guillows from the 900 series, to fly it everyhwere, but i dont find the correct motor, esc, battery, etc, and my transmiter is a Futaba.
Thanks, greetings |
jgood | 20-Jul-09 12:45 | Erik. How about a Molt Models Hellcat? It's a great size (30"), and can flown on anything from an IPS to a small brushless motor. I think you'll end up having to modify a Guillows kit quite a bit to make it fly well (they are quite heavy). My Mustang is a LaserArts one, which is very nice, but a little large and fast for me. The Hellcat was more fun to fly. |
SteveM | 20-Jul-09 13:26 | I converted a Guillow's 400 series P-51 to electric RC and can agree with James that you should consider a kit already designed for it. If you are dead set on converting a 900 series (or any Guillow's kit for that matter) you can find some conversion threads listed here. |
Erik Cyne | 20-Jul-09 16:49 | thanks very much james and steve, the 30" hellcat is to big for what im searching, but thanks and if you know a plane from 15" to 25" ( preferably a 22") that flies great i would thank you a lot!! and thanks for the page is great, and for helping a rookie like me :) |
Erik Cyne | 20-Jul-09 16:51 | Ahh, james in your tutorial from the rubber planes, which plane is it ( the yellow one), is great!! I'll call it the fly!! haha |
rhysleo | 20-Jul-09 20:06 | erik, i am no master at all, i am just learning, but what about a series 700 fairchild 24? i know its a series 700, and you wanted a 900, but i see lots of people have converted them in to an electric plane, so it make me think that they are not very hard to do. but again, i am no master, so i could be wrong. |
Creosotewind | 20-Jul-09 20:07 | What a classic shot of the Mustang. Beautiful. |
Erik Cyne | 20-Jul-09 22:27 | Thanks, the fairchild is a good idea! or what do you think about one of the 300?
Creosotewind, i love the mustang, but steveM told my it flies to fast, and also the retracts are a problem, if i let the wheels it wont be aerodynamic, but thanks too! |
jgood | 20-Jul-09 22:47 | The Fairchild really does fly well (if you built light), with minimal mods. Rudder and elevator controls are all that's needed. The small rubber powered aircraft is a Peck Polymers Turbulent. Thanks, creosotewind! |
Erik Cyne | 21-Jul-09 10:39 | Thanks james!!, i want a little airplane, but from present a friend and my dad gave my a .70 Tiger Moth!! haha ironic no?? |
Erik Cyne | 29-Jul-09 09:35 | James, can I use the Ammo motor 12-30-3850 with a 7.4V batteries? or like Great Planes says a 11.1V? thanks. |
