RTD, I've loaded two shots to show what I did with the tail. The N model has the horizontal stabiliser set in front of the pin (reverse in earlier P-40's) so I left the stabiliser where it was on the plans and added about a 2-3cm extension to what was previously the end of the fuselage. I left the fin (I think) in it's original shape but had to do some fiddling to get the rudder to match the fin. The fuselage between the stab and the fin is also different and I made custom pieces to represent this. Hope this helps and good luck with your build. |

No worries Ryan, what's the paint scheme going to represent ? That's the thing with P-40's, nearly every air force flew them so there's a ton of different representations that you can do. |

Well I havn't decided yet. If I do RNZAF colors I'm gonna build a N model. But I'm also thinking of a desert scheme from the squadrons that were in North Africa in which case I'll keep it a E model. I would like to build the wairaipa wildcat but I also want to use the sharks mouth decals. I've seen two P-40's on here with RNZAF colors so I might do something different. |

On wingspalette.com, + or -, there are 298 color schemes of 16 countries for a P-40. I'm sure there's more. |
