From the looks of things, I'd say you designed this plane yourself. Looks really good. Sky |

Thanks Sky - I very much like working out these plans and how to make the aircraft look as real as possible - never get quite what I would like in the way of results but do enjoy the process. |

Rgood, I share your sentiments exactly. Drive myself crazy at times with the S.E. 5 build trying to make it look as real as possible, but "enjoy" the construction at the same time. Are you going to have the fuselage finished in overall aluminum? I seem to recall your previous posts of you flying the Ercoupe. |

I have done a small "test" of using kitchen foil as a covering for balsa - it took quite well and the finish is very near to polished alloy but it is quite prone to damage from finger nails etc - we will see, may have to re-think that one! |

You might want to check out tooling aluminum from an art supply store. A bit thicker, but can easily be cut and shaped to conform. You can also use a pounce wheel to create "rivets". The cowling on my Piper Cub was that material. |

That tooling aluminium sounds interesting CW! I will look out for that, thanks. |

I have had great success with Al duct tape. In fact anything I have covered with Al is duct tape. |
