Don C | 02-Mar-15 13:32 | Rayl. I've had these for a long time, but don't use them any more. Could you? |
rayl | 02-Mar-15 13:55 | Darn you Don. I have a serious tool collecting issue, just ask my wife. Shoot me a price. |
Don C | 02-Mar-15 14:24 | How about no more Ole & Lena from Minnesota jokes? Oh forget the Minnesota part. |
rayl | 02-Mar-15 14:39 | My late father LOVED Ole & Lena jokes. Took the bus to the casino at Redwood Falls just hear the bus driver tell them (non-stop) all the way there and back. Let me know what the shipping is at the very least. Thanks!!! |
Don C | 02-Mar-15 15:48 | Grandma was Lena and her dad was Ole, but the jokes are great. Send me your address: p51sally@hotmail.com .I'll try for a USPS flat rate box. Glad to get them to someone who appreciates and maybe uses them. |
Xanadu | 02-Mar-15 18:30 | Please enlighten us whom do not know, but what do these all do, functions, uses, etc?
|
rayl | 02-Mar-15 20:09 | Xanadu: Certainly (short version). The big item in the center is called a "saw vise" (or vice). It's purpose is to hold the saw so that it may be (1) jointed (Make all of the teeth on the saw the same elevation by running a file length-wise down the saw plate. Then(2)Sharpened by filing the teeth with a triangular file.
The other three items are different versions of "saw sets" that actually bend the teeth of the saw so that it leaves a a kerf that that is just a tiny bit wider than the saw plate itself so that the saw does not bind when cutting. Alternate teeth are bend in alternating directions. |
