I don't want to handle the wings because they are tissue and I keep breaking them. so I made them to slide in and out so I can work on the booms without fear of breaking the wings

I'm looking at that pink styrofoam I use under my plans, and wonder if I could use that instead of balsa on my next build...? Any suggestions or comments like what to use for glue?

THIS BUILD IS ON HOLD !!! I've decided to "DO" the wings, but need info... thickness and size of the sheets, etc. I"ve seen some photos on menu jr"s site but can't find much more on wings. Help ....

Do you want to sheet the wing or "infill"? I think infill would be best as you can't enlarge the plastic on the nacelles to accept a bit (1/16) thicker wing. That is to place pieces balsa in the holes made by the stringers and ribs. Tedious is the best description. The master of infilling is D Duckett. Check his hangar. Most of us who do that have followed his example.

I want to sheet them

If you want to sheet them you should check Poppy's hanger.

part of the problem is that the wings are complete, with tissue, primer and finish ..Now I have changed my mind so I'm kind of restricted in how to proceed

It sounds like sanding is back in your life - gentle sanding. Poppy's Comet P-40 has a good explanation of sheeting wings. Good luck and have fun.

sorry, still can't find him on that comet P-40 site so far I have ripped off all the tissue and sanded the wings down to the bare balsa (mostly) I assume I use 1/32 sheets ?

It's on this site. Look under "your hangar" for Poppy, then click on his name.
