This is the the Bf 109E-4/N/Trop of I/JG 27. I chose it because of the color scheme and the interesting markings.

Black Eight was flown by Lt Werner Schroer, who was the 2nd most successful "experten" in the Mediterranean behind Hans-Joachim Marseille.
