I think all is working again now. Please leave a comment on a photo somewhere if something you need is not working still.

Wow!

Nice job! Great detail. Is this going to fly?

This one is going to be a hanger queen! It weighs a tone! All the ABS plastic ribs in the wings, bass fitting, etc. I'm going to need to reinforce my ceiling just to hang it!

That's an amazing fabrication. That 3D printer really opens up a world of possibilities. And being able to size your parts to fit whatever scale aircraft you're building is a huge help. How long did it take you learn the3D printing process? I read the description you gave to Don. Sounds intimidating.

Thanks for the Comments! The printing piece really isn’t that hard. Lots of trial and error and wasted plastic. The technology is starting to become more mainstream, and easier to use. You can buy a good quality 3D printer for a reasonable price now at Home Depot. Wasn’t that way when I started in 2012. However, even the new technology is still like paper printers in the 1990’s. It still takes some fiddling to get things to work correctly. The harder part is creating the 3D model itself. For someone who has never used these tools, I think it would be daunting to start, but I tend to think that anyone who can take a block of balsa and turn it into an engine cowling, or P-38 nose has the correct mindset. After all, 3D Modeling is primarily moving a bunch of point (vertices) until you have the shape you want. And often, this is done using front, side and top view references, just like what we do when we carve balsa. It then becomes a matter of learning how to do that with the tools.
