I elected to make the bowing forms out of a lamination of 1/8" and 1/16" balsa sheet. It would have been easier to use some 3/8" thick by 6" wide sheet I had, but I couldn't bear to carve it up when I had a pile of low quality balsa from Tower Hobbies on hand.
