David Duckett | 28-Jul-09 02:56 | I bring this back up to show how I think the racer should be built and this is in agreement with Heinrich. Once the sides are built they are turned upside down and glued to the crossmembers which are pinned to the plan. Once this is dry the bottom crossmembers are glued to the sides making the box. I think I would glue the tail together first which establishes the "V" shape as the other crossmembers are added, starting at the front. The top formers are then glued to the crossmembers. The bottom formers 1 - 5 are made from stock and are not sticks. Once it's all dry the side stringers are glued to the box and the top and bottom stringers are glued into the notches of the formers. Sound logical? |
