Learning to fly...HaHa...Funny...During my hiatus I jumped into the art of the Sythe. I made the "Snathe" (handle) out af laminated spruce. I mowed my Fathers lawn with it for a year and a half....before I jumped into my new life. Built that Cabin too.

I just hope you didn't operate that piece of self-power equipment in shorts and crocks! Seems like a good way to cut off something vital!

While it's a lot more exercise, the scythe is safer than a power mower - quieter too. Use mine every summer.

Oops...spelling error... You're right Don C.... Scythe.. There is something "Therapeutic" using a Scythe when it is fitted to you and very sharp. One peens the edge with a hammer to razor sharp, then a quick hone with a very fine stone. Razor sharp. Actually a bit scary. Probably illegal in California too ! haha. The rhythm and sound is almost addicting. I have European style Scythes. Very light. My Father grew up having to harvest with these. He's really knowledgeable. So much so, he liked to watch ME do all the work while he sat on the patio had his coffee and cake!! Hmmm...
