warped wing, any remedy?

Looks like a Tim Burton movie aero-plane. Me thinks it cannot be repaired but it does look abstract. Rebuild if you want it normal. Learn from your building errors. Seal the frame wood before covering the wings.. Waterproof it.

What direction was your tissue grain running on the wingspan? Actually, John's right...it looks pretty cool! Paint it black and add some BATMAN decals. Retro Batplane :-)

Comet's fraems are pretty light. next time add another lower spar and a few gussetts and that will help. Or maybe one spar across the top.

Ahoy Briand did you use any Butrate dope ? The butrate will keep a shrinking as time allows. The only remedy is to start the wings over Use Krylon clear instead of dope I call it magic in a can the stuff works miracles on stick and tissue models. Boats

Brian, I had a similar result with my Easy Built D7 as well which is basically the same design. After that kit, anything that calls out 1/16" for leading edges and trailing edges I usually replace with 1/8 x 1/16 or 3/32 squared where applicable.

thanks guys, i'll try that next time.

You received some good advice from the comments.

Those warps will be quite beneficial if you fly the model. The wash-in on the right wing and wash-out on the left will counter the prop torque. Put about 30 deg left on the rudder and you could have a plane that will fly a nice tight left circle.

too late, i already started reconstructing the wing.
