Image Comments John M Oshust 16-Dec-09 18:53 There were a number of variants of the P-47 thru its long combat service. A number of methods were used to extend its combat range. Auxillary tanks, winng tanks, fuselage belly modifications, and wing extension with larger tanks. Paper coated drop tanks were even used.
