Wheel wells ready for some work.

Is that a solid block to accept the oleos? Smart. When I constructed my wheelwells, I framed them first then sheeted not adjusting for the connection. Had to add later thus shortening the opening a 1/4". Wrote it off to a learning experience. This looks great.

Not to worry, a piece of balsa and Microfill.

Moos, it is a solid block, just not yet drilled. After removing ribs and stringers I will use sheet styrene to construct wells.

Learned modelists...Are oleos shocks? If so why are they called oleos? I know very little about airplane jargon.

I had to look up "oleo" recently when I first saw someone here use the word. From Wikipedia I get "In aircraft landing gear air dashpots may be combined with hydraulic damping to reduce bounce. Such struts are called oleo struts (combining oil and air)" They cite this page as the reference.

SM...Now I think it is clear to me they are shocks filled with margarine....maybe Blue Bonnet!!
