I suppose it will take acrylic paints OK. hjlittman 29-Mar-08 20:19 Should have no problems with acrylic paint using this technique since acrylics are compatable over both nitrate and butyrate dopes. However, filling grain and sealing with talc in dope is really for flying models that have to be kept light. When I have built statics I used a thinned coat of dope to set up the fuzz for sanding followed by sprayed on coat of automotive, lacquer based, filling primer would give great results.
