You can actually get the electronic equipment at a decent price. I like to buy from my local hobby shop but I am on a budget and they don't sell cheap equipment. I don't fly the guillows conversions regularly so I don't see the need to install top-end equipment in them. Tenergy 3S 11.1V 900mAh 25C Li-Poly Battery (local shop:$25), FC 28-12 Brushless Outrunner 1534kv (hobbyking:$6), Hobbyking SS Series 15-18A ESC (hobbyking:$6), Spektrum AR6100 6-channel rc receiver 2.4ghz (ebay:$21), 5 rc timer 5g servos (ebay:$18). I use a 7x6 master airscrew prop, this generates about 23oz of thrust at 15A. This is more than enough for a 13oz plane. I installed the same equipment on my p-40 and am getting anxious to try it out.

i like to try that out some time, thanks for the info, simon.

Thanks for sharing your setup, I sometimes find build threads that exclude this information that can be very helpful for those who later try to replicate the results. You may find the following list of conversions interesting and might consider also posting this conversion there: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=827861

Steve- That is a great tool, I have been to that exact list many times. It is very helpful to see what others have done and build off their successes and failures.
