Lassie is alive!

Lassie...go save Timmy...kill evil rattlesnake, mountain lion, buffalo, mammouth...whatever!

Actually Lassy was a distant cousin. This is a Sheltie or Shetland Island Sheep Dog. But you can call her whatever you want. Thanks for the kind comments. I hope you are as generous when I start showing my build.

It is with a great deal of regret that I inform the members of Ed's passing on August 31. His wife Linda has asked me to finish the plane he was working on and since I live fairly close I'm thinking of driving up to Mesa to pick it and some supplies up. I don't know what kind of plane he was working on and I have projects planned so once I see what it is I'll let you know in case someone else might want to finish it in case I can't.

DD.... Finishing a model for a deceased is a honor that none of us would find easy. I know you can do Ed proud.
Barnstormer10-Oct-08 22:42
I agree with John O. It is an honor, and I could not think of anyone better to accomplish that task than you DD.

DD, it is good to hear that you are willing to finish the model for Ed. In one posting he mentions possibly starting the Stearman next and in another picture you can barely see an SBD box peaking out, so it might be one of those two. I also agree that you are well qualified to finish his work, especially since he cites you and Poppy as being very helpful.

I am so sorry to hear of Ed's passing. And I agree with others that Ed would have been happy to know that DD was asked to finish his project. There is no one here more qualified to do so.

Very sorry to hear of Ed's passing. does anyone know how old he was? I tried to look back to see his work, but it looks like he did not set up a hanger, or maybe he posted photos under another handle. I also agree that it will be a very honorable act to finish his last plane. Please ask if there is anything that I can contribute.

I had some emails back and forth with Ed, helping him upload his images and he was an extremely gracious gentleman. He said he was very lucky to be able to learn from all the experts on here; I think we were very lucky to have such a lovely person sharing his work with us. I am very sad to hear of his passing.

To Ed!!! DD, you are the reason many of us became avid followers of this wonderful site. Your postings and tutorials were the inspiration. From the time I've been here, I've seen this site explode in the number of quality builders and number of images. I think it's only fitting that you were extolled this honor. My deepest sympathy goes out to his family
