what's a good glue for plastic, tissue, and balsa? i use to use testors plastic red tube, but it's no longer available and the glue i have is old and cracking the finish when i use it. ca is too quick to dry. i'm looking for a glue that allows you time to change things. thanks brian.

Coming along nicely Brian - I find that "Elmers" Glue-All is quite good for those awkward jobs and it really does glue all!

....it is quite slow setting too.

thanks bob! does it do plastic? i didn't see it mentioned.

I use a glue stick for tissue, it works great. For balsa I use Testors wood glue. For plastic I use either Testors 'Clear Parts Cement' which is amazing, or else Scotch 'Quick Drying Tacky Glue'. It isn't really tacky and it's white like Elmers but it holds its shape; it doesn't run.

i need to glue plastic to tissue or balsa, mlriley, at a slow rate. does the clear parts do that?

Duco cement is sold at most Ace hardware stores, it's about same as the Testors red. Its clear gel that's slow drying.

thanks bsadon.

First: Testors red is a plastic glue which is recommended for gluing plastic to wood as well as plastic to plastic and is readily available on line. Duco cement, green tube, is nearly identical to Testors green tube cement which is for wood. I don’t think I would call it a a gel.

thanks dd, i found some testors red lying around that's not too old. it should work in the meantime.

Duco cement in a blue tube is a plastic glue.
