Another view. I handfiled and set the teeth on the plate to 16 TPI (crosscut). This project was just about as finiky as building a model. Anymore I need a LED headlamp and 2.50 glasses to keep the saw teeth in focus.

Nice job on the teeth. Haven't tried sharpening for at least 10 years, but cutting new teeth is impressive, especially the 16 TPI. I'm surprised you're not cross eyed after that.

Thanks Don. Hand filing saw teeth is indeed a challenge, bur a enjoyable one (for me at least).

Holy Crap...hand filing and setting teeth on a saw...is what...certainly a lost art!!!! Bravo is right.

I came across an old 14" Disston backsaw a while back for $5 that looked like a car had run over the plate and spine. I was able to straighten it out but was too daunted by the sharpening process so I took it to Mike Wenzloff and for $20 I got to chat with him about saws while he cut and filed new teeth on it. It is good to see that the skill lives on as that is a fine looking handle.
