I took a page from the Guillows SBD model. The pin on the left pulls out allowing the gear to swing down until the copper tub on the gear hits the pin on the right. Then I insert the pin in a hole just above and to the right of the main axle. This wedges the copper tub against the pin on the right and "locks" the gear down. The pin will be visible in the finished model, but I think I can hide it well enough that it will not be totally obvious what it does. edbecky 04-Oct-21 09:07 I love this kind of stuff.
