John what happend with the paint?

I did not like the surface so I washed it off with mineral spirits.

I used Tamiya Flat Aluminum two coats brushed on after thinning 4 to 1. Would have been too hard too airbrush with all the masking. First coat left some shadows but second coat was fine. I used a flat edge 1/2" brush. Good thing about it, dried quick, soap and water clean up and any parts you don't like, windex removes it.

Like Moos, I use Tamiya as well as Model Master acrylics but I airbrush thinned 2/1 w/h20 as thinner. I am not so pleased with my brush work, but these paints do dry quick, and brush marks almost disappear. DD's method of several thin coats works best w/brush. It takes 2 or 3 coats w/airbrush. Moostang's aluminum turned out great also.

A word of caution. If you thin with water, or clean up with water, don't use spirits or thinners. If you use thinners or spirits, clean up with same, don't use water.

Thank you my friends.....now the final decision will be based on what type of paint I can find locally. I would like to hand brush it. I think I wikk paint a few test pieces of bass with my primer and test whatever silver paint wins!
