John are these plastic tips from ball point pens mounted to straight pins then attached to small aluminum tubing?

Music or piano wire .020 in in Al tube that fits and spins in a Brass tube. Tips are small dowels shapened in a pencil shapener and cut to fit. Larger tube will be fixed, smaller tube rotates.

This spinner mounts yertically on the top of the fuse between the pit and feathers. It generated power for the electic compass.
