gearbox offset the engine whereas i wanted to use a brushless motor so that i could centre the engine in a scaled le rhone rotary. Few, I hope ive done it right. This is my first RC build and theres a lot to learn!!!

Looks like you have gotten a handle on the motor. Looking forward to see your installation of all RC components. Maybe someday I will give it a go!

Tony, what's the weight of the cowl? It looks lovely, but will it be light enough to fly?

Not sure of the weight James but its aluminium and it is quite light. The build that inspired me was this link http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_7861264/anchors_7861264/mpage_1/key_/anchor/tm.htm#7861264 he used a stainless steel coffee pot for his. the cowl was purchased from http://www.dbsportandscale.com/ for a pup of the same scale.

Actually ive just weighed it and the cowl weighs 1.6 oz
