John M Oshust | 28-May-07 19:45 | Another pix of the Mig 3 |
moostang51 | 29-May-07 17:54 | This was the plane flown by A.V. Shlopov of 6IAK in 1942 for the Moscow Air Defence Zone. Nice plane serving mainly on the Leningrad front. MiG was short for Mikoyan-Gurevich and the MiG3 was built to replace the MiG1 which though built as a high altitude interceptor was totally inadequate. Good luck with the build. |
John M Oshust | 29-May-07 18:53 | That you sir, your history is correct. Most people think all Migs are jets! I lived in Siberia for 4 months, fortunately never in winter!! |
jgood | 29-May-07 21:28 | OK John, you've got your MiG3 scratch built added to your hangar now. Looking forward to see it come to life! |
John M Oshust | 29-May-07 21:35 | Thank you oh master of the electrons. Now I can continue the new build under a proper heading! |
poppy | 04-Jun-07 13:19 | This should be a great scratchbuild. i normally use Guillow's plan's and modify them to include certain plastic parts but otherwise use shett balsa and basswood to build kit. Unfortunately they do not have plans for a lot of planes. I have viewed pics of your Camel. Very nice. I would enjoy sharing model tips with you. |
