@OLD A&P. I'm interested. Is there a way we can communicate not on this thread? Seems like an off-topic discussion.

This was the first balsa model I had ever tried to build, back in the early 70's! My dad had a stash of balsa models in the closet and I remember asking him if I could build this one. I must have been all of 7 or 8! I never finished it. Probably too young to attempt it. But this has brought back a flash of great memories! Thanks for posting your build! Looking at the plan, this must be an early 1960's kit, because the Guillow's address a the bottom of the page does not have a zip code! Do you know what vintage? I'm always interested in how the wood quality of kits has changed over the years. BTW - If you want to scratch build, most of the out of manufacture Guillow's model plans are posted on OuterZone.co.uk. The Guillow's plans are really good because they have all the part outlines, which makes it easy for scratch builders!

Thank you, radio gear locations was pretty straight forward on this one and i had some luck as the fuselage was just wide enough for the two servos. To Huey, im using an old Graupner mc-24 radio with an 2,4 GHz hack module made by Assan. The hack module is a cheap one from hobby king. But i have used it for 6-8 years and its reliable (binds faster than the more expencive brands). Assan also have the lightest recievers that i know about at 3 grams for an 4 channel one. Servos are Hxt 500 also cheap from hk, and also tested for many years. And not one servo failure or problems with the Assan system.

Thank you all, nice to see you like the colours. Could anybody tell me how to contact James? Need to add a scratch built Avro Anson to my hangar. Thank you!

I really like the color combination and the craftsmanship on that exhaust manifold is sweet. Nice job on the electronics too. I'm going to have to become a much better RC pilot before I try to fly something that nice.

Very nice. I agree with John O and Don C. This is turning out to be an excellent model.

Wow! Thank you very Anders. Really shed a lot of information on the S.E. 5. Greatly appreciated. I too visited the Vintge Aviator, but was not able to access this level of detail.
Don C, Comment for image # 3646931 Jul 16 15:48

Just looked at some of the photos online and used my imagination following the style of others.
