I believe it's similar to "Weld-on" which is water thin and uses capilary action to spread down the seam. To use it it would be best to use a solvent adhesive applicator. A small squeeze bottle with a hypodermic type needle tip to dispence the liquid in a precise manner. These glues do bond by melting/welding the plastic together, hence the applicator suggested. The styrene rod is the 1/16" and is available at most hobby centers. I sound like a commercial or something.

Some assistance please: These are from Pat's build and have a great technique for joining plastic pieces but it involves a glue I've never used, Ambroid liquid weld. There are a couple of Ambroid glues with that general description but not that particular name so I'm guessing they're pretty much the same. Pat said to clamp the pieces together while the glue dries and then glue this rod inside the seam. The question is, will this glue melt the plastic as regular plastic cement does if used in excess? The second question is, where can I find the plastic rod? I need it to be fairly flexible to use with pieces with curves. After the pieces are dry, the outside is trimmed and sanded smooth and then filled with "green putty" and sanded just like I do with Hobbylite. I have also seen "white putty" at the LHS and it appears to be the same thing. ??

Oh no, I'm already behind!

David, this Himax motor is a direct brushless replacement for the GWS IPS motors (HC2208 -This 30 watt motor is for very small models weight 6-8 oz . Replaces MPI EPU and GWS IPS gear motors) it uses the same stick mount as the GWS but doesn't need the gearbox and will proberly be cheaper than the park 250's.

Pat didn't think outrunners would fit inside the nacelles. I do have a dead Park 300 that I can use to check for clearance when my kit arrives. For now I'm planning to use brushless inrunners on a pair of Phoenix-10 ESCs and 7x5 APC props, one turning clockwise and the other anticlockwise. Thanks for the picture DD.

Check out Eflight 250 OR 300 out runners lot very smooth motors no gears to wear out.The motor turns on the shaft it self making it very balance. They are 7.4 volt. lipo the only thig is tow of them pulling on the same pack may drain a pack too quickly.I really not sure never had a twin engine electric. But this is really going to be a beauty indeed.Maybe some one can give you better advice on twin motors Iam just getting use to single engine power scourses.

John O. - I'll know more when I get the kit. Hopefully the directions suggest a motor, prop, servos, and battery to use. If not, Pat's build/design thread over at RCGroups talks about those components. I'll email you when I know more, but maybe James can offer some help now since he has the kit.

My version will be a "Billy Parker Super Plane" coming in at about 85 inches wingspan. I have the plan blown but not printed. Will do that tomorrow... Have to finish a hand full of little stuff, and that infernal Fulmar, and I'll be cutting wood again...

SteveM...I have nothing. If you would be so kind as to prepare a detailed manifest as to what I shall need....the whole nine yards...I will purchase the components. I need a transmitter...one that is vesatile but that will not break the bank. If you or James are willing to do this you can e-mail the list to me johnmoshust@verizon.net.

Surely a box marked "Gift - raw skunk hides" would go unopened. John O. - I'm sure James and I can both help you out. Since you're not planning to fly regularly then you'll be happy to hear that the designer of this plane used a very inexpensive propulsion system. Do you have a 4 channel radio that you can use or do you need to buy everything from radio to battery charger?
wingspanner, Comment for image # 1586914 Jan 10 11:04
They open all packages now and inspect. I still have to pay import duty. My last plane cost more in transport than it did for the kits! Thanks for the thought anyway david it was very kind of you. I have plenty of kits to build. I am building myself up for my Mk1 Spit which will be a flyer with retracts. All 41" wingspan which is big for me!!!
David Duckett, Comment for image # 1586914 Jan 10 10:28
That sucks, Tony! I thought we were allies?! Do you have to pay the import duty for a gift?
John M Oshust, Comment for image # 1586914 Jan 10 09:45
I would like to change my entry from static to mobile. That is if one of you would voulanteer to let me follow your coatails and tell me what and when to purchase the jimmies and jammies required to make this bird move. I am willing to make the investment. I do not want to fly it, just have control surfaces move at my command and have it ROG around a bit.
wingspanner, Comment for image # 1586914 Jan 10 09:37
Thanks for the offer David but it'll cost me £40 or about $65 import duty as well as the postage which is usually 30-40 dollars. That'll be $127 dollars then the postage and at this present time I don't have the money. Thanks anyway

Thanks for the link, that should help a lot!
SteveM, Comment for image # 1586914 Jan 10 06:06
Ordered mine last night from e-hobbyland.com thanks to the tip from DD. While I'm waiting for it to arrive I guess I'll read Pat's thread and start planning out the electronics. Brushless inrunners will probably be the way that I go.
John M Oshust, Comment for image # 1586914 Jan 10 04:15
If we all wait a few more days, we will have everyone building a Dragon. Dumas will have to cut more kits and wonder where the demand is coming from.
David Duckett, Comment for image # 1586914 Jan 10 03:37
Make that 1 pound, 15.4 ounces.
